Alea German, Senior Engineer
Alea focuses on energy modeling, as well as the analysis, evaluation and optimization of energy efficient technologies in buildings. She earned her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis and her B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University. Alea is a Professional Engineer as well as a residential Certified Energy Plans Examiner.
Aqdus Siddiqui, Energy Analyst
Aqdus’s primary responsibility is energy modeling and analysis. He has experience with multiple modeling tools including BEopt, EQuest, and EnergyPro. He performs analysis, evaluation and optimization of whole building energy use and energy efficient technologies and strategies in buildings. He earned his M.S. in Built Environment from Arizona State University and a Bachelor of Architecture from Indraprastha University, New Delhi, India. Aqdus is also a LEED-for Homes AP.
Daniel Stuart, Senior Engineer
Daniel manages field monitoring and testing, programming, data management and quality control, and data analysis activities for the Technology Assessment and Standards group. Previously, he worked for Summers Consulting and California Lighting Technology Center, analyzing the performance of biomass energy and lighting systems respectively. Daniel’s experience includes advanced data acquisition, automation, and data analysis techniques. He earned both his B.S. and M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis.
James Haile, Staff Engineer
James provides analysis of large datasets, monitoring and evaluation of lab and field installations, and writing and editing of technical reports. He works on a variety of projects, including efforts related to the future 2019 California Building Energy Efficiency Standards. Prior to joining DEG, James worked for the California Energy Commission on the Home Energy Rating System (HERS) program. He also conducted HVAC experiments as a student research assistant at the Western Cooling Efficiency Center. James earned his B.S. in Aeronautical Science and Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. He is an Engineer-in-Training.
Jenifer Jackson, Analyst
Jenifer is responsible for various energy modeling tasks and report writing for Building America and builder clients of DEG. She also provides support for general green consulting services. Jenifer received her B.A. in Communications from California State University, Sacramento. She is a Certified Green Building Professional through Build It Green and a USGBC LEED AP Homes.
Josh McNeil, Field Engineer and HERS rater
Josh conducts building performance and HERS testing, developing, installing and troubleshooting. He monitors project equipment, setting up short and long term laboratory and field tests and product development projects. He currently handles NightBreeze production, shipping and technical support. Josh has a B.A. in Liberal Arts from California State University, Chico.
Marc Garcia, Business Analyst
Marc handles project invoicing and budget management for all Davis Energy projects, as well as generating budgets for CEC proposals. In Addition, Marc reviews all Davis Energy contracts for potential issues before acceptance. Previously Marc worked as an AR Clerk with the Maloof Sports and Entertainment/Sacramento Kings and as the Accounting Coordinator for UC Davis Athletics, where his duties included revenue recognition, game and event reporting, invoicing and merchandise revenue reporting. Marc received his B.A. in Art Practice from the University of California, Berkeley.
Mardelle Moreno, Administrative Specialist
Mardelle prepares and finalizes contracts and proposals, conducts business development research, coordinates strategic recruiting activities, and performs other administrative duties for the principals of DEG. She is also responsible for planning and coordinating company-wide events, and managing DEG’s website and social media accounts. Mardelle received her B.A. in Communication from the University of California, Davis.
Natalie Fladager, Programs Administrator
Natalie provides support for the Residential Green Building Programs group assisting the project manager with the LEED for Homes certification process as well as writing contracts and proposals for green projects. She also coordinates data and correspondence relating to Title 24 updates and creates and sustains contracts for the Codes and Standards group. In addition, Natalie performs company-wide administrative tasks for DEG. Her background in Construction and Real Estate are the cornerstones of her knowledge and expertise in her position. Natalie is also a published writer and previously a professional ballerina.
Patti Heath, Project Manager
Patti currently serves as the Project Manager in the green Residential Programs group. She is responsible for third party verification of residential projects through LEED for Homes, GreenPoint Rated and Enterprise Green Communities programs. Patti is a Green Rater and LEED AP-Homes USGBC, a Certified Green Building Professional and GreenPoint Rater through Build It Green, a HERS Rater, WaterSense Inspector and a Certified Energy Plans Examiner. She received her B.A. in Communications from the University of Northern Iowa.
Peter is a Senior Engineer at Davis Energy Group. His current responsibilities focus on technical evaluations of advanced water heating options for 2019 Title 24 code enhancements. Prior to joining DEG, Peter worked for EURAC, an Italian energy research group investigating the calibration of detailed simulation models with actual project energy use. He also held the position of Scientific Associate Engineer at LBNL where he completed TRNSYS and Modelica modeling on advanced gas water heating systems. Peter earned his M.S. in Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2010, where he focused on the modeling of gas tankless water heaters as part of a Graduate Student Research Assistant internship with NREL. He received a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan Technological University.
