Grupe Homes has earned California’s first Energy-Smart Home Scale™ (E-Scale) label, awarded by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Builders Challenge. The Carsten Crossings house earned the E-Scale label for energy eficiency after rigorous testing; it is the third home in the nation to receive this award.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) announced on Oct. 19 that the Consortium for Advanced Residential Buildings (CARB) is one of four teams selected to receive $10 million in research funding over the next five years to continue work under the Building America program.
